Behind the
bars of Consuelo Giulianelli’s harp strings, Sylvia Nopper imitates
a nightingale, she gets bored as a saint while leaning against the harp’s
column, or she gets scared listening to the sound of winter rain which
recalls little mice steps.
In dialog with one another, the also harpist Nopper and the also singer
and reciter Giulianelli mark one of the highlights of Lucerne Festival.
Basler Zeitung, 16.9.2003
Consuelo Giulianelli gave an excellent impression. From the very first
moment her pearly, crystal clear playing was able to impress...
Neue Zuger Zeitung, Switzerland
Consuelo
Giulianelli proved to be a sensitive musician, flexible and full of fantasy.
She managed to express Debussys impressionistic style in an authentic
way through parallel chords, beautiful sounds medled with the orchestra
colours and through a measured elegance in the ceremonial gesture of the
danse sacrée and courageous lightness int the danse
profane. Wonderful!
Der Landbote, Winterthur
With a clear
and grateful message... the piece was marvellously interepreted by the
young harpist Consuelo Giulianelli...
LInformatore, Lugano
Consuelo
Giulianelli showed that the harp is an absolute fascinating solo instrument,
and not only to listen to but also to look at. She performed the concert
with a great variety of tempo and volume and therefore managed to give
a really successful interpretation...
Neue Zuger Zeitung, Switzerland
Giulianelli
gave a deep impression especially because of the control over her instrument,
the way she struck the strings - sometimes imperative, or subdued or fulll
of expectation - and the quality of sound, rich of virtuosistic leaps
and fascinating tones. Immediately one has the impression of a mature
musician, capable of intellectually dominating the form of
the music and to tune herself clearly to its expressive waves.
La Nuova, Venice
Consuelo
Giulianellis performance was distinguished by a perfect technique,
a generous interpretation and a variety in the dynamics... the harpist,
who accompanied herself, showed to be a talented singer and she shined
not only in various folk songs, but also as an interpreter of John Dowland
and Béla Bartòk. Toward the end of the versatile and high-quality
concert, in Prokofiev and Salzedo the harpist showed once more her gorgeous
ability, sensitivity and carismatic power in playing.
